Ski helmet

I borrowed a friend’s ski helmet and lost it at the resort. I have no idea what brand it was. It was several years old but knowing her it was probably high quality. I’d like to send her a couple of options to choose from or maybe give her a voucher to an online ski shop. At a glance it looks like helmets run from £50 - £175. How much should I spend? I want to err on the side of being generous but I don’t know what makes a good helmet. Are there any good brands or shops I should check out?

It can cost a lot more than £175 for a ski helmet! Can you claim on insurance for it? It is such a personal choice that I think you need to just ask her and replace like for like.

Can you not just ask her how much it cost or what brand it was and then just be a bit generous over that? If she skis often I'm sure she has a specific brand or style she will want, better for her to choose.

A few years old still probably only means it’s been used for 3 weeks! It’s not like she was using it everyday. I’d ask her what it was called and but the latest version of it. And never borrow from her again.

Definitely let her pick a like for like replacement and just pay for it, however much it costs, that's the deal when you borrow something! Brand can matter because some brands line the vents on the helmet up with the vents on their goggles so they mist a lot less.

Def let her pick it. I'd look for a top of the range one in a previous years colours.
