18th birthday

It is my son's 18th birthday and I need to find him something good for the end of July. My family and I already bought him a car for his 17th which then became Christmas and birthday presents from everyone including his 18th which is knows, and is definitely not expecting a present from any of us.

For this reason, and because I have a little left over together with my mum, we have about £250 or so to buy him something memorable. I expect he would rather I donated towards his car insurance for the next year, but I would really like to give him something to keep forever. He is useless with watches. He likes gadgets (but of course these go out of date). He does not read. He supports avidly a football club but already has season tickets etc. He does not really have any hobbies.

So - anyone have any good ideas for something that he would like, would keep, not lose instantly and cost under £250?

Many thanks.

Personalised number plate for his car? Lots of these are around £250 and although lots of people hate them on here (!) its something he can keep forever 😀

poochie - that is a great idea. I found one I liked. My sister found one she liked and his dad (who is not buying it but I wanted his opinion) found another option. So I have printed then out onto a picture of his car and he can choose whichever he prefers. Thank you!
