Airbnb plus Bilbao what do I need to know

am looking at booking a last minute holiday - usually prefer self catering villas/apartments rather than hotels but will consider anything given timeframe!

In past have used homeandaway/holidaylettings etc for villas. Have stayed once in an Airbnb in UK but it was a corporate let rather than individual host iyswim...

So those experienced airbnbers what do I need to look out for in the adverts etc

If you've stayed in Bilbao do you have an recommendations (hotels etc)

No experience of Bilbao but two things I check are extra charges (I hate being charged extra for cleaning or a deposit so tend not to go for those) and reviews. There should be some and hopefully they will be honest and offer some guidance. BTW I am an Airbnb host and consider my charges include cleaning. I have stayed in 6 different Airbnb's and they have varied hugely. The best have been new ones (who are still eager to please)and the worst have been commerical ones (poeple who have several properties to rent - this will be flagged in their descriptIon)

I have been looking for a few days in Santander in August . I have been looking since November for next August so plenty of time. I eventually booked a really nice hotel which was a similar price to Airbnb's which was shocking as my prices as a host are less than nice hotels around here.
