I want to go with the paper theme and think outside the box a little bit. Hopefully I can get some inspiration from you all!

Paper you say?

DH got a speeding fine through the post.

Other than that we had a night away. and he drove home a little too quickly

Headingtowardsforty · 09/06/2019 21:03

DH got me tickets to a musical I had wanted to see for longer than I could remember. I booked and paid for dinner in a rather naice restaurant and printed the reservation off so I could hand him something paper too.

I had DS. Well, a week later. We didn't really do much. I was huge & uncomfortable.

What's with all the printing the PS Game order form / reservation off? Have you kept them?

LittleKitty1985 · 09/06/2019 21:13

For our first relationship anniversary I made a word cloud of all of our text messages and put it in a frame.

For our first wedding anniversary I made a heart-shaped map of our neighbourhood and annotated our romantic locations, then I printed it and put it in a frame.

Very proud of both of those tbh Grin

Impatientwino · 09/06/2019 21:14

I bought him a train ticket to Edinburgh and we went for a lovely weekend!

Cloudyyy · 09/06/2019 21:16

We took our new baby back to the place we got married and had high tea.

Justabadwife · 09/06/2019 21:21

We stayed in the honeymoon suite of the hotel we had our reception in. (It was part of the wedding package) we went out for dinner, and then went back to the room, drank champagne and lay in the massive bath.
I want to do it again this year (but it's quite an expensive hotel, so not really a 3rd year anniversary thing, maybe 5 or 10 😂)

Emmapeeler · 09/06/2019 21:24

I have no memory of it but have a feeling we forgot to celebrate as we had a 1 year old... My mum would have sent a card though!

Emmapeeler · 09/06/2019 21:26

Its become a bit of a running joke that our anniversaries are totally devoid of any romance.

Us too Grin

Wow so many lovely responses to read through, I do like the idea of printing off tickets to something. Will have to have a think!

We did tickets too. To the National Dog Show at Earl's Court. It was great!

Lars1 · 20/08/2019 00:33

Haha I make those heart maps you mention for a living~ ironically not gifting one to my other half this Friday.

letsgomaths · 20/08/2019 07:54

We started a tradition of "photo of last year's photo". For our first anniversary, we have a photo of ourselves holding a framed photo from our wedding day; then next anniversary, we take a photo of ourselves holding that. We've been keeping this going ever since!

limesoda · 20/08/2019 09:03

A nice dinner. We’ve kept up that ‘tradition’, except for 10 years where I got a necklace.

Really not interested in ‘stuff’, but like to mark the day. Works for us.

AuntieMarys · 20/08/2019 09:05

We went back to the city of our wedding ( New York) and Framed some 1920s postcards of some of our favourite NYC buildings

RosieBooBoo · 20/08/2019 09:41

We're a rather do something than give big gifts couple so we went to Belfast & stayed in a fancy hotel for the weekend - great city!

amusedbush · 20/08/2019 09:44

We went to Paris for a few days. I guess the EasyJet ticket print outs could be the paper bit? Grin

kaytee87 · 20/08/2019 09:47

We went out for lunch with our 4 week old baby.

amusedbush · 20/08/2019 09:48

Actually, I forgot that I did make DH a proper paper-based gift. I got a rectangular frame with three spaces in it and in each space I put a map of where we met (Edinburgh), where we live (Glasgow), and where we got married (New York).

Cheesy but it looks good!

nrpmum · 20/08/2019 09:49

Ours is in October. I've bought him tickets to a show

Youvegotafriendinme · 20/08/2019 09:51

We went to see jersey boys in London (paper being the theatre ticket) we had planned to stay up there for the night and have a good drink but I found out I was pregnant 2 months before but we still had a great time. Since then we just about remember to get each other a card

BazzleJet · 20/08/2019 10:00

The paper present was dollars and we went to the Caribbean 😍

SuzieBishop · 20/08/2019 10:04

We went on a lovely trip to the Isle of Skye!

IggyAce · 20/08/2019 10:07

Enjoyed 4 days in New York.
