What is this rash? Google says diabetes

I've had this itchy rash for a few days, it's now turning tender and sore (might be from me scratching).
Google has suggested a number of possibilities including flea bites (no pets) scabies, various pox, and troublingly eruptive xanthamatosis which can be a sign of diabetes apparently.

They're not insect bites, I've had flea bites and they're not that, I've been putting bite relief cream which hasn't relieved anything and hydrocortisone which helped The itching when it was really bad.

Give me your suggestions...I will be trying to get a GP appointment tomorrow though!

My first thought was shingles

ShutTheFridgeUp · 09/06/2019 18:47

Looks like early shingles to me too

Brigante9 · 09/06/2019 18:48

Pompholyx eczema. Itchy? Spreading? Anything on your hands? Try to wear open shoes, awkward place you have it. Child’s Farm baby moisturiser helps but you have to just let it run it’s course.

Another vote for shingles here too

KingBobra · 09/06/2019 18:49

My money's on athlete's foot.

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 09/06/2019 18:50

Okay Shingles! Wouldn't I be feeling ill though? I thought it made you quite poorly.

I definitely don't have it anywhere else.

Looks a bit like shingles although mine was more inflamed around the area.

Spider bite?

perhapstomorrow · 09/06/2019 18:52

I've had exactly the same rash. It's althetes foot. Get some anti-fungal cream from the pharmacy.

NaughtyLittlePassport · 09/06/2019 18:53

Very unusual place for shingles but it looks similar to the rash. Been exposed to hand, foot and mouth recently?

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 09/06/2019 18:54

Not to drip feed but it didn't appear all at once, there was one spot first and the others appeared over a couple of days, which makes me think not bites...but then again what do I know?!

I have sandals with cross straps which means the rash isn't covered brigante.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions!

Have been googling athlete's foot and shingles rashes. It would be a waste of a GP appointment if it turned out to be athlete's foot 🤔

Another vote for pomphlyx eczema.

NoBaggyPants · 09/06/2019 19:06

Pop to a pharmacy in the morning. The pharmacist will know what it is, and whether you need to see a GP or not. Pharmacists have an amazing level of knowledge!

GreenTulips · 09/06/2019 19:07

You can go to the pharmacy first for an opinion. They diagnosed DD shingles and adviced doctors appointment.

Same with DS and a foot infection - they couldn’t give antibiotics he needed without a prescription.

ShitAtScarbble · 09/06/2019 19:07

Are the individual sores a bit like blisters? Is there liquid in them?

Hazlenutpie · 09/06/2019 19:07

It looks fungal to me. Try an anti fungal on it for a few days and see how you go.

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 09/06/2019 19:07

Good idea .Baggy

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 09/06/2019 19:10

Not blisters as far as I can tell, they seem quite solid.

Seems generally a good idea to try pharmacist for advice before trying GP.

Thank you for all the suggestions, I am googling them all!

Shingles is sore not itchy, you said it started off itchy.

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 09/06/2019 19:11

Yes it started off unbearably itchy and is only sore now.

Teddybear45 · 09/06/2019 19:11

Shingles can itch too. Looks just like my mil’s shingle rash a few years ago. See a GP

DaveMinion · 09/06/2019 19:14

Looks like my pompholyx eczema but they are like little blisters that burst then go hard and crusty. It’s itchy as hell though. I have steroid cream from the gp. It was misdiagnosed as athletes foot for years.
