What is this rash? Google says diabetes

I've had this itchy rash for a few days, it's now turning tender and sore (might be from me scratching).
Google has suggested a number of possibilities including flea bites (no pets) scabies, various pox, and troublingly eruptive xanthamatosis which can be a sign of diabetes apparently.

They're not insect bites, I've had flea bites and they're not that, I've been putting bite relief cream which hasn't relieved anything and hydrocortisone which helped The itching when it was really bad.

Give me your suggestions...I will be trying to get a GP appointment tomorrow though!

It's athletes foot, you could still be diabetic though.
Get some cream from gp asap.
If you are diabetic it can infected and the first sign of my diabetes was cellulitis, from a bad case of athlete's foot.

Sure you'll be ok, but don't put it off.

I think molluscum contagiosum- check out the NHS info.

Looks like hand, foot and mouth. k it out on google. It’s contagious. I got it from my dc who got it after a school trip.

mimibunz · 09/06/2019 19:39

Your local pharmacist should be able to tell you if you can’t get to your GP.

steppemum · 09/06/2019 19:42

If it is athletes foot, then an antifungal cream will start helping really really quickly, like 12 hours. You need to continue obviously, but you get a quick response to know if it is working.

The thing is it could be any of these, and your GP might not even know without further tests.

Shingles is quite itchy and I felt like I had a sore throat (a really bad sore throat)before it erupted. I wasn’t noticeably unwell with it.

Damnanddoubledamn · 09/06/2019 19:54

Shingles: my mum had it and it looked like that.
Husband’s diabetic, had countless infections such as cellulitis. Never had anything that looks like that.

Decormad38 · 09/06/2019 19:55

Athletes foot. I once got blisters on underside of foot and it was misdiagnosed by gp. I eventually got rid of it with that one application athletes foot stuff that you leave on for 24 hrs

Decormad38 · 09/06/2019 19:55

It’s not really in the right place for shingles as that follows a nerve path.

thesnapandfartisinfallible · 09/06/2019 19:59

Does it weep when you scratch it? Looks like athletes foot to me.

Shitsandgigglez · 09/06/2019 20:03

Shingles!!

lancaster · 09/06/2019 20:06

Shingles. GP apppointment

Namechangeishard · 09/06/2019 20:17

As it’s in a line my first thought was bed bug bites!

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 09/06/2019 20:41

Not crusty or weepy!

Looks like pompholyx to me too. They start like that, then dry out to look like brown scabs. They eventually peel off.

I had a serious breakout on my hands about 15 years ago. It was caused by stress. I get it intermittently now. It usually turns up on my big toes.

fairweathercyclist · 09/06/2019 20:52

I thought the shingles rash came up around your waist? And I think you'd be ill.

Can you go for a blood glucose test? It would at least put your mind at rest about the possible diabetes. I think you can get them done at Lloyds pharmacists but you'd need to book.

RamblingFar · 09/06/2019 21:15

Athletes foot. Lamisil Once will get rid of it.

Shitsandgigglez · 09/06/2019 21:24

Shingles can be anywhere on the body. Only on ones side though.

You can also feel fine with shingles

Shitsandgigglez · 09/06/2019 21:24

*one side

SinkGirl · 09/06/2019 21:27

I had exactly the same years ago at uni although on the side of my foot, under my ankle on the inside.

GP had no idea, said scabies maybe - covered myself in that lotion stuff, made no difference. Steroid cream sorted it but had scars for years

Then I started getting it on my hands. New GP said dishydrotic eczema. Seems to be right.

TwistinMyMelon · 09/06/2019 21:35

Looks like shingles, it's not diabetes

StillMedusa · 09/06/2019 21:40

Pompholyx eczema. I get it in the same place. Worse when I have had shoes on that make my feet too hot. Try and keep your feet cool and don't scratch!
It's not shingles.. totally wrong place (usually side of torso) .

toffee1000 · 09/06/2019 21:45

Given the variety of responses OP I think you’re best off going to the pharmacy/GP!!

CMOTDibbler · 09/06/2019 21:54

I get athletes foot like that
