What is this rash? Google says diabetes

I've had this itchy rash for a few days, it's now turning tender and sore (might be from me scratching).
Google has suggested a number of possibilities including flea bites (no pets) scabies, various pox, and troublingly eruptive xanthamatosis which can be a sign of diabetes apparently.

They're not insect bites, I've had flea bites and they're not that, I've been putting bite relief cream which hasn't relieved anything and hydrocortisone which helped The itching when it was really bad.

Give me your suggestions...I will be trying to get a GP appointment tomorrow though!

Looks exactly like my athletes foot.

Definitely go to a pharmacy before but GP.

Just a quick thank you from me, too - I've been pondering my child's itchy, bumpy sole and I'm fairly certain it's pompholyx eczema after a nanogoogle!

SinkGirl · 09/06/2019 22:51

How old eBae? I thought my son had it like I do, but the GP said children don’t usually get it

eBae · 09/06/2019 22:52

DC is 8. It's been on the sole of the foot in varying degrees for about three years.

Mild atm due to vinegar soaks...

Mine are only toddlers so maybe that’s what she meant

Have you tried hydrocortisone cream? Definitely worth asking a pharmacist to have a look :)

SinkGirl · 09/06/2019 22:57

Yes, that looks familiar - are the dark patches scars from old ones? My feet were like that too.

SprogletsMum · 09/06/2019 23:05

My dd had a rash very similar to that on the side of her neck and on her arm. The only thing I found that looked remotely similar was shingles. Pharmacist and nurse practitioner were both adamant it couldn't be shingles because of the location but ds caught chickenpox around the same time despite not having been around any other children, so I'm not convinced they were right.

eBae · 09/06/2019 23:09

Yep. The underside of her foot is rougher, sort of like thicker skin with blisters. Her other foot is totally baby smooth and unaffected!

SinkGirl · 10/06/2019 00:44

The scars will fade - I had a really bad patch on the inside of my foot and was quite badly scarred for years but you can’t see it now. Has the GP looked at it? I found it quite painful and super itchy, poor thing.

WelcomeToGreenvale · 10/06/2019 01:20

Pompholyx. That looks exactly like my foot right now, except my blisters are dried out and starting to peel.

It's resistant to hydrocortisone - the only thing that ever worked to clear mine up was Elocon cream, which is mometasone furoate. And that only worked for six months or so. Thankfully my flareups are rare now and I can just let them do their thing, but there was a time when I was scratching off all the skin on my toes because the pain was better than the constant itching. Keep an eye on it OP.

KindergartenKop · 10/06/2019 08:57

Shingles. I had it without feeling ill.

endofthelinefinally · 10/06/2019 09:03

Just showed it to the doctor sitting next to me and he says molluscum.

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 10/06/2019 09:15

Molluscum, yikes! Having googled it though my spots don't have the little indentation (probably hard to tell from just a photo).

Ah. He thought he could see indentations.

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 10/06/2019 12:01

I appreciate the suggestion though!

Shitsandgigglez · 12/06/2019 09:57

What was the verdict on this OP?

Namechangeishard · 12/06/2019 16:45

Have you had it looked at op?
What is it?

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 14/06/2019 09:44

Sorry for the long delay!
I've only just been able to get to the GP...she thinks it's in the herpes/chicken pox/shingles family but couldn't be more precise.
It's looking a lot better but I reckon I'll have scars/marks there for a long time.
