Tory joggers

Why do so many leading Tories feel the need to be seen jogging? every time I've switched on the news over the last few days I have been confronted by pictures of Michael Gove jogging, sometimes it has been Boris Johnson (not a pretty sight!), and I remember a sweaty David Cameron accompanied by bodyguards lumbering up Downing Street.

Fit and strong innit.

marvellousnightforamooncup · 09/06/2019 21:56

About as fit and strong as they are strong and stable.

Because they’re twats.

ForalltheSaints · 10/06/2019 06:54

If that was the only thing they did that looks or is bad, we'd be in a better position.

Bloomburger · 10/06/2019 06:56

Blimey the hate is strong today!

Maybe they're just taking some responsibility for their health and fitness.

otterturk · 10/06/2019 07:38

So being a Tory MP precludes you from exercise does it? Noted.

What a ridiculous post.

chanderl · 10/06/2019 08:00

Because they're taking care of their health I imagine.

Are you an Adonis?

Mrsjayy · 10/06/2019 08:04

I always think they slip out the back door and jog round the block not a sweat on any of them as the saunter up the road to waiting press I wonder if their people say you know what Mike be seen outside doing the jog Grin

DippyAvocado · 10/06/2019 08:06

Anyone who thinks these "jogs" are not carefully planned for the media is kidding themselves. Or maybe they're just trying to sweat out the drugs from the night before.

RosemaryRemember · 10/06/2019 08:13

There are a surprising number of people jog around the streets where I live. On Sundays the paths to the paper shop is chock-a-block with them.

chanderl · 10/06/2019 08:14

I find the more middle-class the area, the more joggers!

Most well brought up people exercise.

Everytimeref · 10/06/2019 08:19

There is video evidence of Gove walking until he sees the cameras then he starts jogging!

RosemaryRemember · 10/06/2019 08:23

The overt "exercisers" aren't any more polite than the walkers round here. Rather the opposite when I come to think about it.

TemporaryPermanent · 10/06/2019 08:26

Because it's something active that doesn't look too elitist or aggressive - Hague tried appearing doing judo or whatever it was but just got ridicule for it which wasn't fair imo.

Because it's visual for the TV while making it harder to shout questions at you.

Because it looks fit, strong, macho (I haven't seen the female candidates jogging but could have missed it).

Because most people look idiotic while walking along looking self conscious.
