If I do my passport renewal online, does it take a while to accept/reject the photo?

The programme automatically pulls up any obvious errors and lets you know and asks you if you still want to submit with these in place or if you want to try a different photo.

I renewed one 3 week's ago online and the first photo taken with my iPhone was accepted almost immediately- hardly any delay in then completing the application. It was then sent out in about 10days- I was really impressed with how simple it was and would definitely do it online again. Seemed like much less hassle than the post way.

It went through straight away if the system accepts your picture. It kept saying there was an issue with one of my kid's photo but we kept taking different shots and getting the same message. In the end we ticked to say we wanted to submit it anyway and the passport was issued without any problems.

Oh terrific! It must have gone through then. If this is it I'm really quite impressed as well.

I submitted mine last Saturday, posted my old one off on Tuesday and got my new one yesterday! Really impressed with that.
