Ideas for a 16th Birthday please

She's a studious, hardworking almost 16yr old.

She's just come back from travelling & wants to go again as soon as her next lot of exams are finished.

She has two jobs & is saving for a world challenge trip abroad in 2021 having been told she's to earn her way for that one.

Relatives etc are giving her money towards this so we'd like to give her something to open.

Her godmother has added to her Pandora ring stack so that's out.

I've a few books re gap year travel in the ole amazon basket.

She doesn't need clothes/shoes and isn't that fussed on make up.

Isn't allowed a TV in her room and pays for her own phone.

16th birthday here isn't a massive thing with us. It's all about the 21st.

I don't want to buy for the sake of buying if that makes sense but don't want her not to have a few parcels to open either.......

Any and all ideas gratefully received Smile

Can I just be nosy and ask who she went travelling with-was it last summer?

I have a 15 year old who would love to go travelling but not alone or with friends yet, and it’s not quite the same with parents!

For my eldest’s 16, we just paid for him to have a meal out with friends and then gave him money-nothing specific just because it was his 16th.

I’d go with things she could enjoy whilst travelling. Does she like the sea - she could do a PADI scuba diving course. Does she need a good quality rucksack or a good camera?

I know you said physical gifts, but are there any shows , gigs or experienced she would like that you could wrap a something related for?
Mine loves her wireless headphones and also randomly her extension lead that has both plug points and usb points (easily pleased)
Does she need anything travel-y? Lots of bum bag things around at the moment, v handy for going away. Portable charger for phone?

@Letseatgrandma we're in an exceptionally fortunate position that we have family all over the world. She had 3 wks off between finishing her exams and starting the new school year so she flew to Oz (first solo flight) to stay with her godmother. I was only okay with it because as she's still 15 she got unaccompanied minor assistance and was wheeched through the airport like Beyoncé 🤣. Have warned her not to get used to that LOL

@flissfloss65 Suva diving a good idea. I'm just very wary of adding to her self imposed busy schedule. Between her jobs (I am her employer for one of them luckily for her) and her studies, this is the important year, I didn't want to add much more. I could look into an intensive one nearby for over the summer maybe as we're close to the sea (albeit a cold one!)

@Mac47 she's a gig in Sept and one in December so I don't know if there is anyone else she'd like to see this year. Very easy to get it so wrong lol. Will get her sister to scope that out...... she has earphones as they are the MUST HAVE item for the 45min school bus journey. ESP when one now shares the same bus with ones younger sister Grin

God she sounds like a spoilt brat who has everything and I promise she's not and she doesn't. I'd just like to get her something to open on the day Blush
