Extreme Flushing

My 18 year old DS keeps experiencing sudden flushing (red skin that is hot to touch). It affects his face, chest/upper body, legs and feet (all at the same time). Flushing comes on without warning and takes a while to disappear.

What could this be a sign of? As it's body as well as face, I doubt it's Rosacea. My son will go to GP about it but is waiting until he has finished his A-Levels.

I have googled it and haven't found anything that looks like a plausible explanation. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

Thanks for any ideas!

I would say it’s a form of anxiety but I would get him to see a GP just in case
