Can I ask what you bought your kids please? DH and I have iPhones but I don’t want to jump straight in with one for DS who is going into high school. Thanks.

Ours have all had iPhones (hand me downs from us) it's easy to link them all and keep track of where they are, although not sure if you can do this between different types of phones.

I bought ds a cheap Alcatel one. Runs android, works fine. Neither dh nor I have contracts so no hand me downs. I used qustodio for parental controls at first which works well across platforms.

Thanks both. Lots to consider.

Moto G 5 or maybe it was a 4 ? Great phone for a teenager staring high school

Motorola Moto phones are great starter smart phones they do everything a more expensive phone does more than adequately and aren’t so expensive that it’s a great concern if they get broken or lost . The Samsung J range is also very good and under £200 .

Nokia one. Under £100, Android and does what it needs to.
Small memory though.
