Explain or feign illness

Ok we have booked 2 things on the same weekend. My dd is in a dance school and her classes are every week she has never missed a class in 2 years but there is a very important show week coming up and when I booked the second engagement back in Feb we didn't know this, this other engagement can't be changed . Unfortunately she has to miss another one due to a wedding. Thing is do I come clean and explain that the engagement on show week was booked before show week or do feign illness. The problem is they have said that their parts will be given to other students if they don't attend She has never ever in 2 years missed a class before just unfortunate that 2 important things happen at the crucial time!!

Why would you pretend anyone was ill? Just tell the truth. 'Sorry can't do X because we are doing Y that day'.

How is that a problem? If your dd won't be there someone else gets the part- pretty standard.

Just explain, it's not the end of the world that she will miss a couple of lessons and it's better that faking illnesses and your dd accidentally dropping you in it.

The truth prevails!

Does your dd need to be at this "engagement" that you hooked?
Could she stay with a friend from the dance school and attend this very important session?

RaffertyFair · 09/06/2019 09:05

Booked not hooked obviously

Of course their parts should be given to other students if they can't do the show.

What's your dilemma? You want them to have the part for rehearsing and classes even though they can't be in the show? That's incredibly selfish.

RaffertyFair · 09/06/2019 10:00

HobbyIsCodeForDogging it's the important casting rehearsal that the dd will miss, not the show.

Thanks for explaining that RaffertyFair.
I found the whole thread very confusing!
