Has anyone booked through Expedia?

I’m looking at summer holidays and have found one I like on Expedia ... the problem is, Skyscanner show flights are fully booked on those dates (tried there first). If it shows as available on Expedia, is it? Or will I book just to get a cancellation through and miss my chance to book elsewhere? Does anyone have experience they can share, or work for Expedia and can reassure me (or not!)?

Obviously nobody can guarantee it, but the likes of Expedia buy seats up front. Check with the airline’s own website too.

Book through them all the time and no issues

Used them loads of times and never had a problem.

But you might find that the booking fails if the flight is now full. It will fail at the final booking stage (at least, that what happens with hotels).

I would be really surprised if it allowed you to book then cancelled later. I can think of several reasons that the booking systems will be set up not to allow that to happen.

We book almost all our trips via Expedia, never had an issue. Think they are ABTA accredited and ATOL protected.

They are only ATOL protected for packages, ie flight and hotel booked together, not for flights only.

You used to be able to get ATOL protection by booking car hire + flights (without hotel), but I don't know of that is still current.

I have used expedia and edreams several time and a couple of times on edreams, I was given business for the price of economy!! The bliss!!
