Apparently my parcel has been delivered, it has to be signed for, well I certainly didn't hear anyone knocking, no card to say it's with a neighbour, so where the bloody hell is my parcel.
On the phone now waiting to speak with someone, great start to the day Angry

Have a look around the outside of your house or the back gate. My yodel guy throws them over the gate, or leaves beside the gate (in the rain). In the bins ? They are imaginative folk.

Well have spoken to them, looks like the driver has scanned it by accident, thanks for that, now I can't even track to see how long they'll be.
Gardai I have read about what some drivers get up to, do they normally leave a card?

Yodel at notorious for it, I watched one deliver a parcel to mine, she opened the porch door, put it inside and walked off, didn't knock. I then had a text saying my parcel had been delivered and a screenshot of my alleged signature!

Fortunately I had the parcel but the same happened to my friend with over £200 of Christmas presents but no parcels delivered and a fake signature, she's still trying to fight it 6 months later.

I try to avoid parcels delivered by Yodel

I've had them put in the bin (on bl**dy bin day)

Slung over fence

Left on my neighbours doorstep Confused

Best one though was when the normal Royal Mail Postman banged on my door. Apparently, he'd noticed a parcel under a car on a drive about 20 doors down. He picked it up assuming it was for the residents noticed it was addressed to us and kindly delivered it. Yodel had insisted it had been delivered two bl**dy days earlier

This is why I love DPD. They email/text you the day before telling you they will deliver the next day. They then update the tracking early in the morning to give you a one hour time slot for the delivery

If you won’t be in you then select a local place from a list (Matalan, Curry’s etc) and they will deliver your parcel there and it will be available to collect after midday.

This makes it so much easier for me.

It really depends on the courier. I've had a brilliant Hermes courier for years but the one prior to him was a lying, thieving bastard. The Yodel courier is currently ok but I've had no end of trouble with them in the past and I do try to avoid companies that use Yodel. I agree with a PP - DPD are excellent.

Mine said ‘left in a safe place’ - back doorstep in full view of the road! Could have chosen to put behind a bin but no.

Mrsoh39 · 08/06/2019 10:07

Too much thinking involved there captain. Unfortunately I didn't choose them, the woman on the phone was lovely though.

Wow that is shocking, about 20 doors down? Good job you have a lovely postman!

Gardai · 08/06/2019 11:04

Yes, come to think of it they normally leave a card with a note as to whether parcel is at the back gate or 'over the gate' Confused

I'm currently waiting for a dreaded yodel parcel. It was next day delivery from paperchase. Ordered Tuesday for Wednesday delivery cause I'd be in to receive it. It never arrived on Wednesday...contacted yodel and was told to wait a further 24-48 hrs for it to move to the next tracking stage before reporting the issue. Great, so clearly not ever going to be next day. Contacted paperchase who contacted yodel themselves. Yodel told them it would be out for delivery on Friday, so I went into work to do my half day Friday at 6am so that I could be home as early as possible (thank god for flexi working). It never arrived Friday either. It's been in the local sorting office since Thursday morning but they claim it went to the wrong sorting office so surprise surprise, it's delayed and will be delivered 'soon'. No idea what soon means but I'll be at work all next week so there's no chance of me being in to take a delivery. Who knows if I'll ever get it, and part of the delivery is a father's day card which probably wont arrive in time to send to my dad!

Yodel are just terrible. I don’t know why companies use them. There should be a way of knowing which companies use which delivery companies as I’d avoid anything to do with them.
DPD are great.

AlunWynsKnee · 08/06/2019 14:23

Not sure which company but MIL had a parcel left on her doorstep. She lives in the town centre and her front door opens on to the pavement so it was basically left in the street. Fortunately the suppliers replaced it.

Mrsoh39 · 08/06/2019 14:44

Still waiting for it.
It's virgin mobile.

Mrsoh39 · 08/06/2019 16:53

Has it arrived sweet? Still waiting here, although it isn't showing as delivered now on the tracker thing.

AngelaJ18 · 08/06/2019 18:56

Arrow XL delivered my parcel to my neighbour and didn’t tell me! I rang the company who said it’d been signed for but couldn’t tell me which property had signed for it. No card, nothing! Luckily my neighbour brought it round no trouble but still terrible service to not tell me what they’ve done with my parcel

captainpantbeard · 09/06/2019 07:17

Yodel are just terrible. I don’t know why companies use them.

Me too. I contacted Smyths (iirc) to tell them Yodel had just left it in full view of the street but they just apologised for any inconvenience caused to me, I don’t think they were bothered.
