Bleeding after intercourse

Flippingflipflop · 07/06/2019 19:59

Only happened once. More than just spotting and some the next day too (No sign of injury or discomfort)
Period not due for 5 days. Unlikely to be pregnant. No other symptoms. Any one else had similar? Do I need to bother gp?

Yes, Ive had that before.. It can be a sign of an Ectropian/ also know as 'cervical erosion'..It is harmless and very common (although annoying from a laundry perspective!) and just means that some of the sensitive cells of the womb grow down into the cervix, and bleed when they are knocked.. If you go to the GP they will check and confirm whether it is this or something else.

I had similar but had it more than once, I went to the GP, had a smear and had abnormal cells. It's better to get it checked out just in case.

It was a polyp with me. Dr took it off in surgery and sent it off to pathology.

Thanks all. I was told I had cervical erosion years ago at a smear test but had no bother from it. Might be that.
