Performance anxiety

Brief details as follows.

Mu DH and I live in a small mid terrace, two bedrooms side by side and all open plan downstairs.

All the above is relevant.

Anyway, my DM has come to stay with us for six months, she lives abroad hense the long visit.

She has been here six weeks and in that time my DH and I have had special cuddles about twice. Previous to my DH arriving we "got together" several times a week.

DH says he just can't perform knowing DM is a few feet away in the next room. He says she can hear us, which to be fair is probably true as we can hear pretty much hear everything she does.

Last night we did actually dtd but DH stopped after a few mins because he said he could hear DM using the toilet. Again, this is true, you could, but I don't see why it's such an issue, it's something everybody does ffs!

DH says the sound was just so off putting and because she apparently "ten feet away" he couldnt finish. Sorry if that's TMI.

I get that the house is small and that sound travels. But surely it's not asking too much to just ignore my DM, we can't go on like this for the next four months.

Any thoughts/advice

Couple of nights away somewhere?

Day off work together while she is out?

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately due to her age and the fact that she is from abroad and doesnt speak english, she doesnt go out on her own. And we can't go away for a night by ourselves for the same reason. If anything happened she wouldnt know what to do and wouldn't be able to communicate with anybody.

My issue I suppose is if he's being a bit precious or am I just out of touch with the situation because it's MY own DM.

Nip downstairs once she's asleep and use the sofa/kitchen worktop or something? Clean it afterwards obviously.
