My stupid brain!

Emetophobe here whose brain behaves in very strange ways and imagines all kind of things from very innocent situations. Hoping someone can talk me down!

Dropped DS4 at nursery this morning. Smells beautifully of zoflora. Staff member is wearing gloves and disinfecting the bookshelf. I overheard a child say something, don't know what and the response from the staff member was '... gone home'. So of course my stupid brain puts two and two together and makes ninety! I've convinced myself that a child came in and vomited on the bookshelf and they sent them home and were cleaning up. Now worried my child will catch something. There was no smell of vomit, nursery had only been open 20 minutes and I know I'm jumping to massive probably wrong conclusions. Please talk me down!!

So as not to drip feed, I am receiving CBT from talking therapies for my phobia and stupid brain.

There’s always a chance children will catch something. Crowded nurseries, diet and germs everywhere, unvaccinated people.

It’s quite normal to get ill, builds their resistance for later in life.

Kids need dirt and germs.

Thanks for the reply

I know it's good for them to build up their resistance - or at least my rational mind tells me this!
