Can anyone help me with minecoins for minecraft on nintendo switch? 😭

Hi, DS has a Nintendo Switch and loves Minecraft. He has recently been given a gift card with minecoins to use. Ive followed the instructions to redeem and now they are apparently on my microsoft account. Where do i go from here? I'd be so grateful if anyone can help.

Is your account linked to your sons Minecraft account?

Im trying to link it but get the message "this nintendo account is already being used on this console. Please link to a different nintendo account." So the switch is linked to my nintendo account, i set that up initially for parental controls, but it now wont let me link his profile.

Can you sign into your switch and download Minecraft then log in using your sons username?

He has been using minecraft on it since Christmas, but having since been on to nintendo it looks like DS has a profile on my nintendo account but actually needs to be user on the console. I thought a profile and a user were the same thing :/ will get back at it this evening. You'd never know I'm in a fairly technical job

Did you have any luck with this? I’m trying to add some minecoins to my sons account but it is not user friendly at all. I don’t play on it so don’t want to add to my account if he can’t then use them. Any help would be great, if you found a way. Thanks
