So have recently ended a relationship, have no clue what to do with myself any more. I don't feel like I even know who I am.

So am wondering what do you do with any spare time you have?

I am planning on running again, waiting on the all clear from a minor procedure I had. Going to start c25k again, and work from there with the hope of completing a half marathon Sept 2020.
I enjoy reading, but that's all I can think of.

So what do you do?

I read a lot.
Have two horses to care for but I don't ride any more.
Cycling.
Cooking and baking.
Jigsaws (charity shops are the best for jigsaws!)
Big Farm ( a computer game, played for 3 years now)
Walking but starting to find it hard due to arthritis.

I also love drawing and painting but rarely do either atm.
Writing.

So many things I would love to do but lack the funds and the energy!

AguerosAngel · 07/06/2019 07:54

I like reading, mainly crime, psychological thrillers, I’m currently learning to speak Spanish via Duolingo and a free course at our local community project, I love baking when I feel well enough (I have two chronic illnesses) and I enjoy learning about world history. And finally, I follow our local PL football team religiously!

Damntheman · 07/06/2019 09:32

RPG (roleplaying games) but tabletop and play by post online.
I organise LARP - that takes up a butt ton of time but my social circles are HUGE because of it.

I lift weights and swim, I love hiking and in the winter I snowboard.
I read a lot and I also love to knit. I design super nerdy knitting projects :D

I also love modern board games - Betrayal is my favourite! But don't get that much time left over to play them anymore :( Hopefully when the kids are big enough to be into games more complex than King Domino and The Disappeared Diamond I can get back to my spare room full of board games with them.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 07/06/2019 09:50

I go to a craft club.
I build adult Lego
I am a Cub leader.
I read.
DDs seem to think my main hobby is tidying the trail of destruction they leave in their wake.

thinkofausernameplease · 07/06/2019 09:55

Running and the gym.
Baking and cooking.
Pub quiz with friends.
Walking my dog.

Mountain biking. My big love. I'm going out to the Forrest in the next hour or so!

Mountain and fell walking. This is fantastic for my mental health , even though I like being by myself for these.geberally speaking.
Cooking I have a run of using cook books for a while and then move onto the next one. I'm currently on an old Cranks one which is great and the family seem to like what I'm doing

Watching films This is with a film club that meets twice a month. I used to go to every film that was shown but I'm more selective and will leave if I'm not enjoying it or don't go if it's a genre I really don't enjoy.

Sometimes archery. ( I'll have a mad buzz for a while and then leave it for a few months) I'm off at the moment.

Weight lifting. Got to keep those gains!!

I like going wild camping and go a couple at least once a month ( weather dependent), by myself to the Lake District. I normally go all year round but only in good weather.

I like going out to gigs either with DP, my lads or by myself. I've got tickets for 8 definite shows for the next couple of months but no doubt there will be more In between.

Not hobbies, but I like the usual socialising with friends. I love having friends round for an evening and do that quite frequently.

My other big passion is travel. I go away about once every 5 to 6 weeks, even if it is a very early flight and a late late flight back the next or following day. I only do it if I can get cheap flight (£40 or cheaper)

notacooldad · 07/06/2019 10:16

There's some great hobbies and interests on here.
I fancy board games but my local one clashes with my film club night.
The future learn courses are brilliant and I've done some in works time when the subject has been relevant to my job. It's been classed as CPD.

Oblomov19 · 07/06/2019 10:18

I don't do anything.
Other than MN'ing Blush
Maybe I should.

OhDramaLlama · 07/06/2019 19:13

Some excellent suggestions here. Will definitely have to read these and see what ones take my fancy.

Walking/hiking
Cycling
Gardening
Camping

Sounds like I'm really active but it's mostly weekend stuff and on weekday nights I'm pretty lazy and watch a lot of TV or listen to music.

I Like book binding and junk journalling

I do paper crafting, mostly making cards. Very relaxing and it makes me feel good that the recipients are pleased.

Spent a couple of hours yesterday with DGD7 making one for her friend's birthday. Great bonding activity.

Orienteering, where you need to “Think fast; Run hard”. If you have any tolerance at all for running, you can orienteer. It’s a super sport for individual participation and flexible commitment, but a clubbable one too.

Hellokittymania · 08/06/2019 19:14

I love learning languages
Reading, a lot of nonfiction or things in other languages,
Not a hobby so much but I love the free online courses and webinars available that cover a variety of different topics, including medicine, education, all kinds of things.
I would love to do… What is that Japanese paper folding thing called? And I like crafts and jigsaw's, but I have disabilities so finding things that I can do that are sensory That don't require much equipment, can be a bit difficult. If anyone knows of any good websites or anything, let me know please. I am very severely visually impaired and I have difficulty with my hands, but I love things that are sensory, so things that smell, or make noise or that I can feel. Like the different textures.
