Anyone enlarged a loft hatch?

We have a small loft hatch that you can only just get through, so would like to make it a bit bigger and fit proper ladders.
Has anyone had this done & what was the rough cost please?
We are in the north.

Ours was stupidly tiny and we had to put a new one in a different place to make it bigger. Just had to make sure it was accessible and ran between wooden beams so nothing needed cutting. Was relatively straightforward and we fitted a second hand lift ladder too. DH and a friend did it over a weekend, even if you got someone in to do it it really shouldn’t be expensive it’s the making good of the new hatch and boarding the old one that was fiddly and we had to get the landing ceiling skimmed by a plasterer.

SOrry, nothing exciting like mystery trunks or anything
We can get in it & get small boxes through the hatch, just difficult & awkward.
If we get it done properly I might be able to venture up there myself instead of DH climbing up .
