So DD has hairy armpits, only 11yo, she's too scared to use a razor. She doesn't want to use my old Ladyshave, so I have bought some Veet. She wants me to do it for her, I cannot see this ending well due to her being ticklish! Grin.

We are talking armpits by the way, nothing else!

My 11 year old had hairy armpits and was getting self conscious at swimming with school. I gave her the options and we did a patch test with veet as she has sensitive skin. No issues and that worked well. However then I got one of these IPL machines for myself which I have used really successfully everywhere and it was so amazing and I must have gone on about it so much that she asked if she would be able to do it. I wasn't very sure that it was a good idea but after some research i couldn't find a reason to say no. So we shaved under her armpits and started the ipl about eight weeks ago and now she has no hair under her armpits! She is much happier. Doesn't want to think about her legs or anywhere else thankgod as I think I'd have second thoughts about that. It's just a bit different in my opinion when it's under the arms because at this age they get smelly and she does get very self-conscious about that too. Now there is no hair, she hardly smells at all, even when she forgets to put on deodorant. Someone will probably tell me it's far too young but what made me allow it was I remember that embarrassment at school when i got hairy and I would have done anything for a painless mess free way to get rid of it. I spent so many hours, cut myself, came out in rashes etc from all the things I tried as a child as I had no guidance from my non hairy, very blond mum.

It's very hard to cut yourself with a Venus razor. I'd shave them for her until she gets confident enough to do it herself
