Gift ideas for nursery staff

DS will be leaving his nursery at the end of the month to go to one nearer home. He has really had a great time here and the staff are amazing. We’d like to get them a nice gift and have a reasonable budget but I can’t really decide what to get. Any ideas? I think i’d Like to avoid the usual chocolate and wine (because we did that at Christmas). There are 5 of them, all women, 2 mid-30s and 3 much younger.

Thanks for any ideas you might have.

When I worked in a nursery wine & chocs were appreciated any time. Or what about a basket of tea/coffee/biscuits for the staff room? My favourite presents were the ones the children helped to choose including a fresh copy of one of my favourite stories to read to the children as my copy was rather dog eared. My DS once insisted he buy his keyworker red lipstick. When I asked why it was because he'd drawn a picture of her with red lips and she'd said she wished she had lips that colour all the time. So we gave her red lipstick with a card reminding her of what was probably a throw away remark to her but that he'd taken notice of (& a bottle of wine)

Basket of fruit.
Something for the nursery that they don't already have (thinking a "big" toy).
Lush gift boxes.
Selection of coffee, teas and biscuits for the staff room.

I gave little individual bottles of Prosecco and little boxes of fancy chocs to the (young) women in DD's room when she moved up. I figured most people like wine and chocolate, or know someone who does.

Nice mugs - perhaps Cath Kidston or Emma Bridgewater

Some great ideas, thanks for that! I like the idea of mugs, I might see if I can get some water bottles printed with their names.
