Had a sore throat on and off week of 13-18 may, generally feeling run down. By the end of the following week I had developed a bad cough with a lot of mucus on the chest. This cough went on for another week, it was horrible - waking up and coughing my guts up for at least an hour every night for 8 or 9 nights on the trot, no more than 5 or so hours broken sleep a night. Nearly a week later and the cough has subsided significantly but I still have the sore throat and have a rattly chest still. When I walk for more than a few minutes I get tight chested and start coughing again. Been absolutely wiped out by it and still feel crap.
Went to the doctor's as I'm 6 months pregnant and was urged by a nurse at the hospital (I was ringing to cancel an appointment), he just said my lungs were clear and looked rather huffy that I'd gone in, couldn't get rid of me quick enough.
Obviously being pregnant might have made the symptoms worse, especially as I haven't been able to take much stronger than cough sweets but I just wondered if I could put down bronchitis on my 'return to work' form? It wasn't officially diagnosed but I think the symptoms match and it just sounds more dramatic than putting down a 'cough' - I feel I need to convey just how bad it has been
