Can you help me think of a gift for my lovely friend

A friend is doing a massive favour for me - she offered to store all of my belongings - a one bedroom flat full - for me and my family while I go abroad to work for a couple years.

She won't take any payment. She has such a beautiful soul and I really want to give her something to show my appreciation, but I don't know what. She likes beautiful books and nice things, but no specific hobbies.

I've got a few months to think about it but I wanted to cast about for ideas!

What sorts of books does she like? Is she an art, nature, or architecture, lover at all?

I'm thinking a nice thick deluxe coffee table book with excellent photography/imagery

She's a burgeoning scientist and loves learning. I'm not sure how much time she has to read but I think she would appreciate beautiful illustrations with a scientific bent. I though something beautifully bound like this

www.foliosociety.com/uk/the-earth.html

But I don't know if it's more reading than she has time for.

What about a bunch of flowers every month for a year? Bloom and Wild or Freddie's Flowers do them I think.

What a good friend.

Monthly flowers sound lovely.

Or could you send her a monthly parcel of goodies from your new country - your DCs might enjoy helping with this?

Or offer to host her for a holiday there with you?

ohhh loving that book Travelling. It's beautiful!!

Maybe that or/plus the monthly flowers Must say the flower idea is great, plus you aren't adding to extra clutter and its a continuous gift.

I love the idea of a monthly subscription type gift. Flowers would be lovely. Or wine, cupcakes, coffee, tea - I know all these are available.

Get her the hardback edition of The Gendered Brain by Gina Rippon, it's science fabulous.
