Anyone else still living with a stbex partner? Any tips?

So, wanker ex is still here. I hate him. Oh god, how I hate him. We have 2 dc aged 4 and 2, and a council flat in both our names so cannot just sling him out. He is not from UK either so literally has no one here that he could go and stay with. So I have to wait until he collects enough money for a deposit plus first months rent which will take forever 😫 He’s also a whining, negative, spiteful selfish twat and I’m really struggling with my mental health. Any tips on how to get through it? I try not to engage with him at all but it’s hard when the kids are so small.

He works but is also a heavy weed smoker so the more he earns, the more he smokes. He works a minimum wage job. Thank you for the reply

Sorry just realised I didn’t answer the question! It will take a long time, but most likely will not happen. I will probably have to find the money from somewhere

Have you spoken to the council about your options? Could he present to them as homeless due to a relationship break down?

No, we haven’t tried that. Would the council do anything to help a healthy man in full time employment?

They may well do, I work for a housing association and our council works on banding dependant on need.

It’s definitely worth speaking to them and registering to bid on houses.
