"Regular family worming" Is this a thing??

I overheard (basically earwigging) a group of mums yesterday. One of them said she regularly "worms" the whole family. I have never heard of anyone doing this before! The cat, yes, but not the DCs.

Is this a thing??

Is there any point though? How long does it stay in your system? You could theoretically take the ovex or whatever one week and then catch worms the next.
