I suppose it depends on how she is now, people do recover. Also SS may not know about it, they wouldn't have automatically been involved with her.

Depends on lots of factors, is social care involved already? Are there any children who are on plans already?

The midwife might or might not do a social care referral depending on the current situation. Doesn’t mean they will do a pre birth assessment though

im on waiting list and anti depressents and have never been involved with social service before but im worried as i have a few mh problems diagnosed the gp will be concerned and refer me

I struggle with my mental health, only anxiety and panic disorder type though, I'm being consultant lead so I have to go to a fee more appointments I think. But she doesnt seem concerned from the baby point of view. She seems concerned for my welfare during the pregnancy as that's when anxious feelings are heightened

EAIOU · 03/06/2019 20:33

There will be a pathway put in place to best support mum in pregnancy. These things can be discussed during midwife appointments.

I have no clue about SS. Hoepfully someone will come along with information

Pppppppp1234 · 03/06/2019 20:38

I would imagine you will be referred to the perinatal mental health team, just because you’ve got various referrals pending for MH it doesn’t mean your midwife will be concerned re your parenting.

www.leedsandyorkpft.nhs.uk/our-services/services-list/perinatal-service/

This is the area I am so it based on my NHS trust but if google your trust it will give you info. It’s essentially extra support during pregnancy and post pregnancy. As you may be seen as more at risk of PND etc so it’s just making sure there is support in advance for you ☺️
