Sky box signal keeps going

I wasn't sure of the best place to put this for answers. So I thought I'd try here.
I wondered if anyone else who has sky has had any problems with the signal going on the box? Ours keeps coming up saying our box is not receiving a satellite signal. The tv cuts out and recordings are interrupted. It says to turn it off and reset it, which we have done several times. It doesn't help.
I've tried ringing them but they wouldn't speak to me as it's in my husbands name. I will ask him to ring them when he gets in from work. But in the mean time I wondered if it was just us or if others were having the same problem? (The broadband sometimes goes off as well, that keeps happening).

When that happened to our Sky, the white tip on the dish had dropped off and needed replaced.

Hi

Is this all channels or just some?

MadSweeney · 03/06/2019 17:14

I'd hazard a guess the trees in your sight line now have leaves. You can report faults online as well.

Clutterbugsmum · 03/06/2019 17:15

It's either something blocking your signal, or a fault on your dish/cables.

This happened to us a while ago & they wouldn't talk to me as the account is in DH's name. When he finally rang them he got me added as a second account holder.

When the engineer came he told us the problem was the nearby trees. How he worked that out I don't know, as the trees were not in leaf at the time Confused I think it's their standard reason if they don't actually know what's wrong. Anyway, he tweaked something & replaced something else & it's been fine since.

We get the no signal notice but it’s pigeons sitting on the dish and it just comes back when they move we don’t have to reset anything .

We had to switch to virgin, mostly due to the neighbours trees but it used to lose signal whenever it rained or was windy too Hmm

We did when there were trees in sight line - fine in winter when no leaves. Had to get the dish put higher. Also torrential rain has knocked it out before.
