Hi all. Planning on visiting Alton towers, on a Friday, early July. Before most of the schools break up. Anyone been at this time? My thinking is it will be quieter, so near to the holidays....

Scottish schools are out and there might be school trips from English schools.

I has thought of that...might invest in the bronze fasttrack passes

I've been on a weds and thurs at that time of year and it was bearable because we got there as soon as it opened and made our way straight to the big rides.

DD works at the complex. She advises late June/very very early July if this is your preference, but avoid a Friday if possible as many parents seemingly keep their kids off school "ill" to go on this day.

If you have any questions, DDs happy to answer them, she's been working there three years now.

The last day of term is a good day to go, definitely no school trips!

Cross post - big rides definitely first and fast track is a good plan.

Thanks all!

My son's high school are running two trips in July, I'd go end of June if possible as they won't want the staff out to the same extent then because of GCSE revision sessions.

Lots of the schools here in Stoke have trips to Alton Towers in July so it might not necessarily be that quiet.
