How do you think the Queen feels about Trump?

Do you think she likes having him visit or do you think this will be the toughest week of her 93 year long career? (Bar maybe the blitz).

So, according to the gossip sites, Prince Andrew is finding it hard to get into the US since the incident with the underage girl, so this is a chance for the royal family to suck up to the great orange one and fix it so Andrew can visit the US again.

The Queen does love Andrew.

Neolara · 03/06/2019 14:39

What happened with Prince A and the under age girl???

BlackCatSleeping · 03/06/2019 14:54

www.mercurynews.com/2018/10/10/prince-andrew-father-of-the-bride-still-remembered-for-friendship-with-billionaire-pedophile-jeffrey-epstein/

Basically Prince Andrew was good friends with Jeffrey Epstein who used to "provide" underage girls for various rich and famous friends. One girl has publicly stated that she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew while she was under the age of consent. Since the scandal broke, Andrew's royal duties were scaled back. Andrew is very unhappy about this.

The gossip site I read stated that part of this visit with Trump is so Prince Andrew can smooth things for his to return to the US for visits.

She's had worse.

The Caeucesus turned up with half the silver from the Elysee palace in their luggage. Giscard called the Queen personally and she said she'd deal with it. The footman broke into the bags and got everything back.

User10fuckingmillion · 03/06/2019 15:49

He’s probably quite...entertaining. Like egotistical knobs often are.

I’d not thought about from the Prince Andrew angle. Dodgy.

MockerstheFeManist · 03/06/2019 15:54

Wonder what Randy Andy and the Pussy-Grabber could find to talk about?

howwudufeel · 03/06/2019 16:07

What are you talking about Halimeda? I have never even watched The Crown. What an utterly bizarre thing to say.

Really?

Amazing.

I'd love to have the Queen round for tea. Bet she's an absolute riot after a couple of gins.

AhhhHereItGoes · 03/06/2019 16:17

I think she thinks Trump is a twat to be honest.
She seems to be a sensible woman.

Jencottage · 03/06/2019 16:19

She's met, and entertained, a lot worse !

CassianAndor · 03/06/2019 16:22

yes, but an awful lot of people seem to think that no-one is worse than Trump.

howwudufeel · 03/06/2019 17:39

I certainly don’t think there aren’t worse leaders than Trump. It’s just incredibly shocking because he’s the POTUS!

managedmis · 03/06/2019 17:40

Necessary evil

CaptainBrickbeard · 03/06/2019 17:44

He’s such an ill-mannered twonk, I imagine he tries her patience. But given his offensive comments about Diana, Kate and Meghan I would think it’s Harry, William and Kate who will find his presence the most obnoxious. It’s very well timed for Meghan to have a diplomatic excuse for not going anywhere near him.

juneau · 03/06/2019 17:48

From what I've seen, Trump is truly in awe of the Queen and of all the people he meets I suspect he's keen to make a good impression, so I don't suppose he'll be too obnoxious in her company. As for her feelings? He's just another duty in the long, long line of duties she's performed over the years. She's definitely met and entertained far more shady characters than him. It's all in a day's work for her.

listsandbudgets · 03/06/2019 17:48

I very much doubt we'll ever know what the Queen thinks. I actually think she's excellent at her job. She's absolutely poker faced when necessary so you've no idea at all what's going on in her mind.

She'll shake his hand and her expression won't give away whether she's thinking "how lovely to see you, looking forward to a catch up over a gin or two later" or "I'm tolerating you because I must but the sooner you get out of my country (yes that's MY COUNTRY) the better you obnoxious bastard"

I strongly suspect she's not overly impressed with him :)

I was wondering if Meg and Harry were going to be around for him. Sensible move.

Melania always looks positively miserable - I guess I would too if I was married to THAT. Saw a picture of her much younger and smiling and she was virtually unrecognisable!

No one held a gun to her head and told her she had to marry him! I always think of Mrs Merton asking 'Debbie McGee, what did you see in the millionaire Paul Daniels?' when people say 'Poor Melania'. The only thing that doesn't suit her is having to spend so much time pretending to be a real wife to old Donny. Before he became president they were living separate lives.

Whisky2014 · 03/06/2019 18:18

I think all the RF will really dislike him tbh. I bet they close the door once he leaves and think "thank fuck that's over with".

PregnantOnPurpose · 03/06/2019 18:20

The same way she felt about diana.

Jamai · 03/06/2019 18:29

Melania is very beautiful. It would have been nice if she could have met the duchesses. They could talk fashion and the vicissitudes of being married into an institution.
The Queen is a diplomat to the core.

Anyone remember her ignoring Obama for speaking during the National Anthem?

Mamamere · 03/06/2019 19:02

She probably thinks he's a right tosser

Mamamere · 03/06/2019 19:05

Mockers - womens' rights maybeGrin

midsomermurderess · 03/06/2019 19:08

That he is a worryingly divisive populist appealing to people's worst instincts. That all his instincts are to disrupt. But, how long has she been around? She can see right through these people. She has hosted Mobutu, Idi Amin, Ceaușescu, Mugabe. She does her job and tholes it.
