Artificial insemination at home

I just wrote out a lengthy post detailing my experience but ultimately I’m not sure it necessary.

I am getting recurrent uti caused by sex whilst trying to conceive. I am at the end of my tether.

Has anyone here used artificial insemination at home for this reason? I’m in the process of looking up all the info on it and was wanting to read some peoples experiences of it and there reasons for using the method.

I'm trying this way with donor sperm as DP is infertile. No luck so far.

It could work, make sure you know when you're ovulating; you need a long syringe and go to bed afterwards.

Thanks for replies. Have you been trying this method for long H2?

Yes I always use the clear blue digital ovulation tests which pinpoints most fertile 2 days. I got pregnant the first time I used them but miscarried at 11 weeks Sad

It just sounds simple enough in theory but I’m wondering if in reality it’ll be a comical mess! I’ve read a lot of positive reviews of users on amazon on a product I’m looking at.

Anyone else have any experiences??

I did this for two out of my three children. Conceived first time with my third as well. I didn’t do anything special. OH put his offering into a cup, I got a little syringe (the type you get in calpol boxes) and deposited it. I then had an orgasm cos I heard that helps move the sperm along and stayed lying down for a while.

That gives me hope Clever.

My partner is not keen on going down this route really but I cannot keep getting these infections and taking antibiotics. I also think it’s making me not relax as much as I’m constantly worrying about getting them.

I’ve read a few stories online from people trying this method for various reasons but can’t find anyone in similar circumstances to me. Though I’m keen to hear from anyone who has or is trying it, successful or not.
