Any tips? Ideas/layouts etc?
Bit lost with it.

Aww - only just saw this post. I Bullet Journal and love it! I had a few threads about it a few years back (under a different username). What kind of spreads were you looking for?

Progress2019 · 07/09/2019 16:11

I do. Pinterest has absolutely loads of inspiration - layouts, fonts, designs etc. There are also lots of Facebook groups too eg Bullet Journal Junkies, Bujo (Bullet Journal) Beginners, Bullet Journal Ideas, Minimalist Bullet Journals, and Bullet Journal & Planner Spreads.

Personally I use mine as a creative thing not a diary/to do list. Some people would say its not a ‘proper’ bullet journal, but I think they can be whatever you like.

I do, but in a very boring way that would not look attractive on anyone's social media. I buy blank notebooks with decent quality paper and just fill a page every day - doodles, mini-rants, lists, just stuff I want to write down about my day, thoughts etc. I started as an aid for therapy (writing stuff down inbetween sessions helped to make sense of things), so there is a bit of a mental health slant to mine, too.

I've just started with an app called Elisi. It's a very stripped down form of bullet journaling- more like a fancy to do list- but it's working for me.

FranklySonImTheGaffer · 07/09/2019 18:24

I love my journal although I'm relatively new to it.

I use front and back pages for different things. From the front I have a yearly goal list, a drawn out plan for the year (with birthdays, anniversaries, holidays etc on it), monthly plans, weekly plans, diary entries and brain dump pages (where I literally write down anything that's on my mind).

For monthly plans I just draw a calendar page for the month ahead, note down anything important and am still toying with having different things on the side (I've tried trackers / to do lists / goals).

For weekly plans, I like having the days down the left side so they have 3 lines each and spreading it across 2 pages which are in columns - page 1 is for anything I want to note, page 2 has columns for tracker, meal plan and to do list.

From the back, I have lists lists and more lists! There are crochet projects, bills, savings, Christmas present ideas, weight tracker, cycle tracker.

Sounds really sad written down but it keeps me on track, focused and organised and I let out my creative side by doodling and decorating some of the pages

Yes but mine is not pretty. I have told a couple of clients about it when they struggle to structure their day. Mine is a filofax from wish with paper and dividers from wish. I have sections for birthdays and christmas, monthly to do lists, guides, and general notes. I have stencils from wish in a plastic filofax pocket from wish. I really like wish.

lazylinguist · 11/09/2019 11:16

I haven't looked at Wish - will check it out.

GoneWishing - I think a lot of people find it really useful for mental health purposes. I don't write down my thoughts and feelings, but I used to have anxiety and I find that just getting all the stuff I have to do and remember out of my head onto paper makes my mind feel so much clearer and less anxious.

SudowoodoVoodoo · 11/09/2019 11:18

Mine seems to have morphed into a running journal!

For diary purposes, I find my phone clander and Anydo more functional, but I like it for longer term things like wish lists.

ExpletiveDelighted · 11/09/2019 11:27

Mine is purely functional, no colours, drawings or fancy layouts and I tweak the format all the time. I number all the pages at the start but only index the lists and other non-diary pages, as these are chronological and easy to find anyway and it keeps the index uncluttered too.
