I have a few but the one that springs to mind the most is Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf.

I went on a school activity week in about 1981 when I was 14 and we had two tapes with us and a wee tape recorder. I can't remember the other tape because all we played in the common room every night was Meatloaf.

We had the BEST time. It was a fantastic bunch of kids and there were no fall outs or arguments. We spent every night in there or on the grassy area outside with the tape recorder and we sang and danced and snogged and laughed, while the teachers sat drinking wine and having a fag. Grin One of the best weeks of my life!

I haven't listened to the album for god knows how long but just came across a programme on Meatload on tv and realised I can remember every single word of every song. Just thinking about it makes me happy and very nostalgic.

So, what's yours! Smile

Rio by Duran Duran. I loved it all but even today if I hear the opening to Save a Prayer I am taken back to a beach on the south coast, late summer evening sitting alone listening to it on my Walkman and just thinking that life was beginning to fall into place for this teenager.

A few weeks ago I heard my 17 yr old dd in her room, singing Rio (they're very good on 80s pop, my dc, I wonder why...) and I literally cried.

Most of the Queen albums were the soundtrack to sixth form in the 80s, and one particular guy. However, Dire Straits Brothers In Arms reminds me of getting together with dh, and how he has been my rock for 34 years now.
