Ant invasion

I am at my wits end. My neighbour had a problem with ants so she called in Rentokil. Solved her problem, but my house is now like party central for them. Tried the lemon juice tip and the vinegar tip but they still keep coming. Any surefire tips that work would be greatly appreciated.

We use the ant traps. One on its own doesn’t work so we put two by our front door and two by our back door and that does the trick each year.

I don’t like killing them but we don’t want them in the house.

My only success is with Nippon ant powder and ant bait boxes. I've now got bait boxes outside at the points where I saw them trotting in and out when we were infested.
I don't like using this stuff indoors, but it was the only thing that worked for us.

Any traps are sold in most supermarkets, discount stores and garden centres.

I feel so paranoid. I keep opening cupboard doors up really quickly as if I can take them by surprise !!. Hate the bloody things.

They are taking over the world here!

Peppermint oil. They hate it. Put a line of it across where they're coming in and a few cotton-wool balls soaked in it around the rooms where you've seen them (out of reach of small people and pets) and they'll go.
