Which takeaway?

I forgot to bring my reasonably healthy chickpea curry to work. I have three takeaways opposite my building, Indian, Chinese and Turkish. The Chinese is just ok but there is a nicer one a 5 minute walk away. There's also a Caribbean food van but I think that closes soon. Anyone care to suggest what I should get? :)

(Smells don't matter because I'm in on my own)

Indian. The best takeaway by far.

ThisIsTheEndgame · 01/06/2019 15:55

What is your Indian takeaway order?

Whichever one you are least likely to have any other time/make similar recipes at home.

EnidButton · 01/06/2019 15:59

Indian takeaway. Peshwari naan, chicken korma and pilau rice. With poppadoms and mango chutney. Takeaway of dreams.

I live in the sticks. There's a fish and chip van once a week, that's it for takeaways. So I wouldn't be getting any of them at another time. I am leaning away from Indian though, because I now have 2 portions of chickpea curry to eat, and the salad I got in Tesco was lentil and onion bhaji. Hmm.

For me an Indian meal needs all the accompanying bits and pieces like naan, rice etc. I don't enjoy just curry and rice so could be expense, although if it's a takeaway I do like a nice bbq chicken breast kebab with plenty of salad and chilli sauce which would be reasonably healthly.

If not I would have a walk and get something from the nice Chinese.

Drogosnextwife · 01/06/2019 16:05

I would definitely try and make the Caribbean van. There's nothing like that close to where we live though so every takeaway we have is Indian orr Chinese and I wish there was another option sometimes.

AdaShelby · 01/06/2019 16:10

Turkish. No question.

EnidButton · 01/06/2019 16:10

I've never had Caribbean food so I'd go for that if I could. I'm not even sure what a takeaway Caribbean van would sell.

They do a lovely jerk chicken, brown rice and peas with oxtail gravy and spicy gravy mmmmmm yum

Had a look on Just Eat and the Caribbean food would definitely be what I'd go for. It's all sounds so good.

Thesearmsofmine · 01/06/2019 16:13

Turkish or Caribbean.

EnidButton · 01/06/2019 16:13

Cross posted! Yes, go for that!

nc100 · 01/06/2019 16:28

Enid, that's so sweet! Like a dessert to me.

Crunchymum · 01/06/2019 16:37

I'd have a chicken shish from the Turkish.

EnidButton · 01/06/2019 16:50

nc It is quite sweet isn't it? Not one for very spicy food so it's perfect for me. Not too often though!

Kernobhead · 01/06/2019 17:00

Turkish, definitely. Love the kebabs and huge fluffy pittas.

Chinese would be second choice, there’s a really excellent one near me, but they have problems with their deliveries, don’t think I have ever received a correct order! Often get a random extra meal chucked in, sadly mostly seafood based which is annoying as I can’t eat most seafood.

I am often disappointed with Indian takeaways, and they work out expensive one you add on all the accompaniments.

BarbaraofSevillle · 01/06/2019 17:48

Definitely Turkish.

ThisIsTheEndgame · 01/06/2019 18:48

Went for the jerk chicken in the end. SO good.

Turkish

skippy67 · 01/06/2019 20:33

Jerk chicken with oxtail gravy isn't a thing.
