It's actually second bottom on the list of supported devices only after the 5s, it's likely they will drop it out of the next iOS update.

5s will be going with the next update apparently, so if you want several years worth of longevity I’d look at one step up.

My SE updated yesterday
They're meant to be bringing a new one out so they say
Mine is still fast and snappy works well hoping for another year out of it

There won't be any problems now, it's supported by iOS 12 but when the next one comes along there is a very high chance the SE will be left behind. Fair enough of you have one, not recommended to buy new now though.
