Migraine hangovers

Does anyone else get these after a migraine? I always do; I had a migraine on Tuesday night and Wednesday and have felt awful ever since. My headache has gone but I ache everywhere, and feel exhausted and could happily just sleep all day.

Has anyone got any tips/ideas for getting rid of the migraine hangover? Or at least for shortening how long it lasts for?

Diet coke used to cause a few my migraines OP! Aspartame etc are quite common triggers. Re: the hangover, I find small walks helpful (once round the block if anymore is too much, lying in bed makes mine worse. Otherwise I like to use oral rehydration tablets (no artificial sugar!) Drink coconut water, eat as best I can, and keep taking the painkillers even as it's going, right up until it's well and truly gone or it often comes back.
Lots of baths to attempt to relax my neck and shoulders too, and I use a cooling towel )from amazon) around my neck and face. It's a godsend sometimes, and the only relief I can find Flowers

Ooh Crikey my post was deleted! Why was that?

Yes - me too. Dreadful things. I feel as if I have been hit by a bus. I do as others do and try to sleep if I can and eat salty snacks/ drink lucozade or 7up - (which I otherwise never touch)

@Ihopeyourcakeisshit no idea!!

Well, I had a belter of a migraine last night / this morning. That's what happens when you get cocky and think you're cured by your botox. Pfffft. Currently eating beef Monster Munch and drinking full fat coke with the bedroom fan on full and all curtains in the house closed.

I'm sure the neighbours think we're weird with the blinds down and curtains shut so often.

Yes avoid diet drinks. I had a migraine this morning feel rough now. Probably will do for a day or two, if I'm unlucky it'll come back tomorrow to as it's a hormonal one and they don't always stay away. I take Rizotriptain and on toprimate would love to try Aimovig but will have to wait until it's avaible on the NHS.

I have read somewhere that migraines often improve after menopause?
@TwattingDog I know there isn't much of a bright side as far as migraines go but presumably you are wrinkle free at least Grin

Heh, I have a weird blank spot on my forehead - it has confirmed that I shall not be having cosmetic botox / fillers etc in future, as I don't like it! 😂😂

Bottom is just before the appointment, top is 8 days later.
