In December I will have a newborn and a 19 month old, will I need a double buggy or do you think a buggy board would be okay?

I currently have a 20 month and an 8 month old and I still use my double bloody a lot. For days out etc, as my eldest may get tired or need to nap.

It depends on your toddler. But with mine we still have both of them in the buggy (13 months and 2.5 years old)

DS1 likes to sit and I don't think I would get anywhere fast without the double!

We are thinking about getting a board now

I have a 21 month age gap with mine. I had a double buggy, as well a single buggy and slings. My eldest napped daily till she was 3 so the double buggy was a blessing.

The grandparents and dh all used the double buggy too, I never quite converted them to slingy cuddles unless I was there!

I had a 21 month age gap and ended up buying a double after baby was born, life became so much easier with it.

Thanks. Looks like I’ll need one!

22 month gap and I used double for about 15 months because we were out all day most days and DC1 still napped till then.

Get one. Buggy boards are hard work!

expatchouli · 31/05/2019 15:41

Depends. I had a 2yr 3 month gap and used one for the first year. But I had no car, so did everything including the shopping, on foot.

BenWillbondsPants · 31/05/2019 16:18

Yes you'll need one. I got a buggy board and DS hated it. Ended up with the double buggy.

Cannyhandleit · 31/05/2019 16:21

I never used my double buggy, I hated it! I found it easier to stick baby in a stretchy wrap. I'd had a section so found lifting double buggy in and out of car too difficult.

If you're tall, so have to lean forwards with baby in your front, this will wreck your back.

Cannyhandleit · 31/05/2019 18:16

Didn't wreck my back and I still carry him occasionally now at 2.5! If you have the right fit on your sling your back should be fine. Carrying isn't for everyone!

Definitely a double buggy. I had one for 19 month gap

22-month age gap - DCs are just-turned 3 and 14 months and it's only now I'm considering getting a buggy board. And DC1 is a good walker so we don't use the double buggy all the time, but it's definitely been invaluable, eg trips to the zoo, holiday at center Parcs etc.
