Anyone been to or near Thurlestone, Devon and know of any decent indoor activities for a 4/5 yr old? We're going in a week for our beach holiday and the weather at the moment doesn't look great for the first few daysConfused

There's not much near there that isnt beaches and beaches! For indoor you'll need to head to Plymouth, about 35 mins, or Exeter. In Plymouth you'll find life centre with pool, climbing wall etc, theres an ice rink, few indoor soft play type places, standard stuff for a city. Cinema, theatre etc.

The Thurlestone Hotel has an indoor pool but I am unsure of the rules of use - maybe you can use it if you have lunch there or something?

Woodlands is great fun and probably about half an hour away.....does get crowded though.

Torquay is nearer than Exeter if you're going east, and has indoor soft play & other activities - Bygones at Babbacombe was always one of my children's favourites and there's a lovely model village, which, although it's not under cover is good on a dull day between showers. Paignton Zoo is nearby too.
Buckfastleigh has a butterfly habitat and otter sanctuary, and you can get a steam train on the Dart Valley Railway from there to Totnes. (There's also another steam railway line from Paignton to Kingswear, on the Dartmouth estuary.)

Ooh thanks this is fab. Luckily our cottage has a shared pool on site but these are great options to keep us going if needs be 👍🏻
