Create a piece of art, media or poem, that explores issues, around the resurrection. What will happen after death... it's been a very long time since I did RE.....I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

Probably looking at doing a piece of writing or poem

Let's see...

Lots of imagery to play with

Crucifixion or the cross for less ghoulish/macabre setting.

Rising after 3 days

INRI

Kingdom of heaven so lots of wings and heavenly light.

Jesus would obvs be a key figure to put in there.

Is this purely from a Christian standpoint? Or does it need to incorporate a few more religions?

The most thought-provoking thing I ever read on resurrection was Carol Ann Duffy's Mrs Lazarus. Not so much what happens after death but how the living might respond to resurrection.

What does it mean by "issues around" the resurrection?

Whatthefunk · 30/05/2019 12:04

She has no other information....clear as mud.... It is from a Christian point of view

That is a really awful homework. Sympathies.

We are knee deep, in hell.....

Hmm. I'm an RE teacher.. Sounds a bit woolly as homework goes. If you Google images 'heaven' and 'resurrection', you'll get lots if pics of clouds, light, ladders etc. Equally if it's 'issues around the resurrection' you could go for a more scientific approach... What is death? Scientific evidence for near death experiences on the operating table etc. Could it actually have happened? Is it Catholic school? If so they may be less happy with the latter approach!

Whatthefunk · 30/05/2019 13:16

Thanks for that. It isn't a catholic school, thank goodness, because he's gone down the, I don't believe it route. We've finished up with a piece of writing, that questions everything about the resurrection. Hopefully as the teacher was so vague there are no right answers. Again, thanks for your help

Good for him...the task should have been more specific. Did they discuss issues around the resurrection in class? Did he have any notes?

I would have just got my child to draw or write what they think heaven is like. (Answer=dogs everywhere)
