Mineral water without plastic

Silvercatowner · 29/05/2019 22:01

I like mineral water - I much prefer it to tap water (I can tell the difference - tap water round here is potable but tastes metally). I have been drinking squash but am a little concerned about artificial sweeteners (there are anecdotal links between sweetener and IBS, which I have).

But I don't want to contribute to the plastic mountain. Any ideas how I can drink bottled/mineral/nice water reasonably cheaply minus plastic?

Thanks

I only drink water from plastic bottles.

I googled and found this

Water filter? Either within a reusable bottle or a brita jug? I found they improved the taste of water. Alternatively one of those bottles with a section for fruit/herbs. Fill the night before and enjoy infused water the next day.

Depends where you live, there's natural springs you can get free water from in some places

HopelesslydevotedtoGu · 29/05/2019 22:15

Could you filter the tap water? A decent filter should remove metallic taste.

Mineral water being pumped and driven around will generate carbon too, it's not just the plastic bottle which is environmentally harmful.

Silvercatowner · 29/05/2019 22:19

Yeah Hopelesslydevoted - you have a point. I need to get into a regime of filtering and refrigerating tap water.

In my shop we sell resealable cans by Can O Water.

Get a well? We had a well at our last home- not that I ever drink from it.

I'd love a well, Blackcurrant. I wonder if Amazon delivers?

We had a Brita jug and for me it didn’t make that much of a difference.
