I’ve received this email regarding my holiday booking, can anyone translate please?

Is Waarborg a place?

If so this literally means
"Waarborg 500 Euros paid by booking"

I think!

Therefore it's a booking confirmation?

It means you've paid a 500 Euro charge with your booking - this is usually the kind of charge that's used to cover any damage or excess cleaning you may leave behind. If you leave your holiday accommodation in decent nick and don't break anything, you get it back.

I don’t think it’s a place, the villa is actually in Bergerac, France.
The booking is paid for in full but I know we need to pay a €500 damages deposit but I can’t find out how or when we pay it!

@pointythings thank you for translating, hmmm I don’t think we have paid it, sounds like there’s some confusion somewhere.

The wording of the email and use of tenses suggests that you have already paid it. But if you're unsure, I'd email the owner to clarify. Most Dutch people speak pretty good English and can manage written communication in English as well.

WordHippo is a great site if you want to translate to/from a vast range of languages. I thought it meant you’d paid a deposit of 500 Euros at the time of booking. But I’m not a native speaker.

@pointythings thanks again, I did email the owner direct to clarify and the above was the response. We’re not due to travel until August so I think I’ll wait and see.
