She had some unbelievable storylines years ago, but her mother is supposed to be a hairdresser?

I came across this photo yesterday. Is there some storyline involving her hair or has everyone just gotten used to it like Carrie Weavers crutch?

Ha ha! I don’t watch CS, but know the character. That hair is incredibly impressive.

Is she very small? Maybe that's why her hair looks so big.

She has always had a fabulous head of hair, I don’t like the way it’s styled as middle aged frump on the show, but her actual hair is gorgeous and looks much better when she is Helen Worth and not Gail!

She's always had fairly thick hair, but bloody hell, that's gotten beyond dense!

I thought hair was meant to thin the older you get, but hers has gone right the other way.

I have been watching Classic Coronation Street (I know I'm sad) This is from 25 years ago and she had a very good head of hair then!

@3luckystars - yes she is quite petite. Not really tiny, but slim, not very tall and she was kind of bouncy, like her hair.

Audrey has not yet opened the salon, Gail is with Martin.

Looking back at the strength of the female characters then, I can see why I abandoned the current pale imitation of the former version.

Gail arrived in the cobbles in 1974. Audrey started appearing on an occasional basis in 1979 and as permanent character in 1981

I only watch classic Corrie she has lovely bouncy hair in it.

Bet's hair is the most remarkable at the moment - wig (you see her without it, and with less make-up at times of great stress/tragedy)

Rita's wig turned up at about the same time.

Big hair pretty much all round (it's up to 1992?) but mainly ny perms and a lot of mousse

Oh my yes, Rula Lenska looks like some weird kind of dog. It is certainly a weird way of portraying hairdressers and their families.

Yes Bet,s hair is awful, far too much make up too, I think she thinks she's a poor mans, Alexis Colby with her power suits?

I love , love classic Corrie, all those great characters, Percy Sugden, Phylis, the Duckworths, and Bet and Alec, not forgetting Drippy Mavis and Derek!

Classic Corrie is ace, the story lines are so much more realistic !

Do you remember one time when Gail actually had a really good haircut? I think they had to say she'd had it cut elsewhere.
