DS possibly been exposed to stomach bug - do I tell?

DS was with childminder yesterday. She's just txt to say her son has just come down with a stomach bug.

Today DS is with a friend and family. Should I txt them and let them know that DS is possibly brewing a bug and to be extra vigilant with sharing and hand washing or is that a bit OTT?
They're hardly likely to change their plans so maybe best not to say anything. There's no much I can do if DS is going to come down with it now, is there....?

I don't think stomach viruses are contagious except for directly via sick and poo... the virus isn't carried in salvia and isn't airborne. You need direct contact with stomach or bowel contents. So your son should be fine... unless your childminder's child had actually been ill before spending time with your son and she didn't tell you as she hoped it was a one-off.

The virus lives on surfaces for several days though and is easily transferred by hands from surface to surface and then to mouth. I would keep your DS away from the childminders for at least a few days.

Black you know I never knew that (or thought about it!). That makes so much sense.

Thank you.
