Is it okay if toddler does eat lots of carbohydrates

DS 22m has gotten a little fussy with food, tells me it's hot when in it's not

I've noticed he will eat meat, veg and dairy but has started to refuse things like potatoes and pasta.

Is this a problem if he doesn't eat much of it. He will eat bread, crumpets, biscuits etc but I try to limit that

Thank you

DD 23m has never really liked pasta/rice/etc but always seems to have plenty of energy so I’ve never worried about it. She does like bananas so that helps and she loves bread.

How do you serve the potatoes and pasta? Is it plain while the meat and veg are seasoned or buttered?

Pasta usually has either Pesto, cheese or a tomato sauce.
Potatoes at either mashed with butter, milk and a tiny bit off mustard or boiled with butter. He entertains roast potatoes better.

He definitely has a lot of energy still

My DS is the same age and exactly the same.
He will eat buttered toast, weetabix or pita bread with hummus and that is pretty much it carb wise.
He does have loads of energy, and I think he gets his carbs from weetabix in the morning or the amount of fruit he eats in a day.
Apart from carbs he will eat absolutely anything, but preferably meat/fish and salad or vegetables.
