I have a feeling it's going to be a looong (half-term) day

Me & 3 Dses (10, 8, 5) at home. Been up since 7.30, had been round Aldi by 8.45 (at least it was not busy at that time).

They are already squabbling & squawking at each other! And my FB is filled with people 'making memories' & loving their #familytime Hmm I do enjoy having the boys at home & not having school & activities, but it is hard work & I certainly don't feel bereft when they go back (lots of my friends genuinely do!)

Anyway, just waiting for the second washload of the day to finish (unpacking from a wet weekend of camping) then we will head out to the library, I think they can take their scooters & we'll go the long way round Grin

This was my day yesterday. It rained all day here so I said to my girls "right a pj and movie day it is" by 11am I wanted to pull my eyeballs out of the sockets Confused the fighting, screams and squawking done my nut in. Today my mother in law has taken the 5 year old out so it's me, the two teenagers and the 2 year old. I think we're going shopping at some point to try find outfits to a wedding we've got next month. Anything's better than staying at home 🙈

I had my 2 dgc here for 3 days over a long weekend (dgs6 and dgd3), plus my lodger's 2 dd's. They didn't fight, but the place was a bombsite by the time they went home. Toys and clothes everywhere, wet socks up the wall and on the roof where they'd been thrown (dipped in the paddling pool), traumatised dog and cats, paint all over a chair, fridge empty. They've gone home now Grin

I'm really enjoying it this time, when normally I don't love half term. It usually takes a week for them to get into the swing of it, fortunately we've all relaxed into things quickly this time. But I am so over toys constantly coming downstairs and just messing my space up!!! I want my lounge and dining room back right now!!!

Agree with the mess! It's everywhere, even though I keep trying to tidy Grin I'm just praying the rain holds off, because at least they don't sound so loud outside! That and indoor activities are limited, expensive & crowded round here.

Oh god yes!
I've managed to get out to the "supermarket" alone actually I'm satin Starbucks.
I'm lucky that we're flying to Turkey this afternoon so I can listen to the squabble and argue in another country Grin
