Good places to stay near Zipworld Fforest?

Planning a few days away in August with DCs. I don’t know the area at all and would appreciate some recommendations. We would want something self contained with parking, comfortable but doesn’t need to be luxurious...

I’m guessing this isn’t a popular destination! Grin

Not sure how close you want to be but Porthmadog is nice. Or Harlech/Barmouth a bit further. Have stayed at various caravan parks in these areas.

Have a look for places in Betws-y-coed, it’s only about 5 mins away and is a really popular spot with visitors. Lots of hotels and places to eat there.

If you’re looking for somewhere self catering, Menai Cottages and Dioni have lots of properties in the area. Surf Snowdonia also has ‘pods’ you can stay in - I think it’s about 20 mins away from ZipWorld Fforest

Betws y coed is the closest, or if you find somewhere in Llanwrst thats not far either.
Dd is going with the school for the end of year activity days, it's supposed to be good, have fun.

Fantastic, thanks for all the ideas!

Bethesda, where ZipWorld is, is a good base. There are shops, pubs and cafes and it has nice scenery.

I am sure there are places to stay.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 29/05/2019 15:10

In fact, I've just remembered, it has a nice holiday park thing with lodges which is right next to Zipworld.

I'm currently sitting in zipworld while my kids are on the nets. I have no suggestions for places to stay but zipworld is awesome!

Karigan195 · 29/05/2019 15:13

Absolutely nowhere. Wales is s horrible place so don’t visit.

If you must come and make the traffic worse - Betws-y-coed has tons of nice places to stay and eat and is a lovely destination in its own right.

You’ll love the Forest coaster btw!

Karigan195 · 29/05/2019 15:15

@thatmustbenigelwiththebrie. Wrong zipworld. The Forrest one is just off the A5 near Betws-y-coed. You’re thinking of the one by Penrhyn quarry.

Bethesda is however only 35ish mins away

Booked! Looking forward to rollercoasting/zipping/bouncing Grin
@Karigan195 we promise not to clutter the place up Wink

We stayed at Ogwen Bank a couple of years ago, that's very close to zip world and plenty of the other activities
