Do hair sample intolerance tests work

Hi,

My DH quite often has tummy trouble and I think it's something to do with what he's eating.

Wowcher are offering an intolerance test that uses hair samples. They're not medically proven but wasn't sure if there was something in it or if it's a massive con

Does anyone have any experience? X

Why not just go to the GP?

orangeshoebox · 28/05/2019 12:42

they do not work.
you need to do an inclusion diet and/or see the gp is you suspect it's coeliacs disease or an ibd.

They’re nonsense. Send the same person’s hair to three different companies and you’ll get three different results and have spent a small fortune. If your husband thinks he has an allergy or genuine intolerance then his GP can help.

They work very well... to divert your money into their pockets. They'll recommend all sorts of supplements that you "need". Other than that, they're nonsense.

Ah thought as much, I won't waste my time.

I have told him to go to the GP but he's the type where his leg would have to fall off before he went
