I've never actually made a 101 call, but in my state of blissful ignorance assumed that they were free.
Apparently not , they currently cost 15p, there is an article on the BBC news website .
Feeling quite smug about all the 15 p I have saved by never having needed to call 101. I am wondering now what else I have been inadvertantly saving money on by not using a service I thought was free but wasn't.
